The flaw detector is intended for manual and mechanized testing with eddy-current method for presence of surface and subsurface defects like discontinuities (cracks, laps, cavities, spills and other):
- testing of separate sections of bearing structures;
- testing of bars, pipelines, pipes of different diameter, kernels, strips, cables in sheath;
- testing of aviation technique parts;
- full testing of railway wheels and rails.
MAIN FEATURES:
- Sensitivity threshold of the flaw detector on artificial flaws of “slit” type in calibration block must be: depth – 0, 1 mm, width – 0, 1 mm, length – 2mm.
- Error margins of Flaw Detection Alarm System threshold level adjustment make ±0, 2 mm for crack depth range from 0, 5 to 3mm.
- Operation frequencies range adjustment makes from 50 Hz to 2 MHz.
- Excitation signal amplitude from 0,5 to 16 V
- Signal amplification coefficient in each channel: 0-80 dB discreteness - 1dB. Preamplification coefficient in every channel is set to following values: -10, -4 and 2 dB
- Maximal sampling frequency – 5 kHz
- The flaw detector gives the possibility to connect and operate the eddy-current transducers (ECT) of following types:
- Differential ECT;
- Differential ECT of transformer type;

- Differential ECT, connected to bridge scheme;
- Differential ECT of transformer type with grounded midpoint;
- Absolute ECT of transformer type;
- Flaw detector structure ensures the sound and light signalization of defects presence.
- The flaw detector provides the offset form the operating clearance, no more than 3 mm, and from discontinuity of testing object electromagnetic properties.
- Maximal testing speed with application of manual scanner – no more than 120mm/c by intended frequency of samples;
- Adjustment time of the flaw detector operation mode – at most 1min.
- Time of continuous operation of the flaw detector with fully charged accumulator battery – at least 8 hours.
- Electrical supply of the flaw detector is performed from following power supplies:

- Alternate current mains with voltage from 187 to 242 V, with frequency (50±1) Hz.
- Electrical power, consumed by the flaw detector from the main (with connected mains supply unit) – at most 20V·A
- Flaw detector structure has to provide following functions:
- Memory of program setting;
- Memory of testing results (possibility to view all the testing way);
- Mode of two-way communication with PC (for information input to PC from the flaw detector memory and possibility to print this information, and also for loading of program settings from the PC to flaw detector memory);
- Possibility to connect the coder;
- Four independent frames of Flaw Detection Alarm System for each imaging area.
- Estimation of defect depth and defect length.
